Idaho Citizens for

Good Government

Cindy Carlson meets with the ICGG

The ICGG loves Cindy Carlson, not because she is not a RINO, not because she is even a Republican, but because she honestly and faithfully represents her constituents.

At our last ICGG meeting, Cindy was a guest and we got some first-hand deep info from her on the state of the State Senate and on local issues.

Because Cindy lives in Idaho County she is close to us and knows the issues at not only at the state level but also at the county and city levels as well.

The ICGG recently decided to donate funds to support Tate Manley as an assistant to Cindy who simply has too much on her plate to keep up with .

Tate Manley

Tate has been a page in the State House in the past and so is ideally qualified to help Cindy with legislative reviews, communications with constituents, and just whatever she needs to work more efficiently.

The ICGG also offered to help Cindy in whatever capacity we can.  A representative can be far more effective with strong constituent support, something that should be common but unfortunately is rare.

Representing people in government, especially these days, is a thankless and lonely job, with attacks from all sides.  Spiritual and real physical support lets our best representatives know that they are not alone in their fight to do what is right.

Without that support, the temptations to corruption and power often will comprimise a representative and detatch that person from doing their job, which is to support and defend their respective constitutions and to represent the people that voted them into office.

People don’t like to get involved in politics, but when you get to know your representative personally, the game changes and it starts to feel more like family.  It becomes real with the people  participating in their government as it was designed to function.

During her meeting with the ICGG we discussed issues such as how the Freedom Caucus was divided, which senators she trusts and which she does not, local races of importance, how to get the attention of Dorothy Moon so the ICGG can get support to her to help vett Republican candidates to keep RINOs off of the ballot as Republicans, School issues concerning the SD244 deconsolidation and Riggins school district issues.

By the end of the meeting we were all overwhelmed with how messed up things are and how much work it will take to restore power to the people and wrest it from corrupt politicians.

We then decided to end the meeting in prayer, as we are all strong Christians and found God to be a great refuge and source of strength for this  battle.

Most politicians will solicit your help in putting up yard signs or getting voters to the polls or maybe even canvasing your neighborhood, but after the election they seem to just disappear.  This isn’t always the politician’s fault.  The people disappear, going back home and blissfully enjoying family and TV where they are bathed in naratives designed to put them to sleep or make them fearful.

Citizens must realize that self-governing is not just the job of the representative.  Citizens themselves must each take up the mantle of support and being aware of what is happening in the halls of power.  Many hands make light work.  Today’s lack of true voter participation and support has resulted in corrupt, lying politicians that get away with crimes under the cover of a complicit media and helped by the ignorance of the electorate.

Self governance is the duty of any free people and a people that neglect it will no longer be free.

Cindy isn’t there for power or fame.  She is there because she feels God has called her to stand in that place, a place she would rather not be in.  She stands there for us and for God because that is what she is called to do.  She would much rather be enjoying her grandchildren.

Keep her in mind and consider writing her a letter of encouragement from time to time.
