If the ICGG is “non partisian” why is it so often referencing, supporting and sounding a lot like the Republican Party in Idaho?
A recent article in the Idaho Statesman newspaper by Brian Altman was brought to my attention and brought up the need to clarify our relationship to the Republican Party of Idaho.
Many ICGG members are active Republicans and some do and have even held PCOs and higher positions within the party and support it strongly.
So how does that make ICGG a non-partisian organization?
The reason is that the ICGG supports the parts of the Republican Party that fit with our view of what “Good Government” is. We are not controlled by the party and any part of the party that we disagree with, we do not support.
The principle reason the ICGG came into existence was to combat the problem of RINOs (Republican’s In Name Only). One core value we hold is the commandment “Do not bear false witness“. A society cannot function well when lies are too prominent. Our nation is falling and failing in large part due to the fact that we aren’t following this commandment nor are we following many others. We recognize that the Republican Party, especially it’s platform, holds to ideas that we hold to far more than say the Democrat Party does.
This confluence of ideas causes us to have much in common with the true conservative wing of the party, but it does not tie us directly to it. If the party cannot clean up their RINO act and another one came into power with more of what we agree with, then we would go with that party.
Here’s some food for thought. I did an analysis of the Idaho Freedom Foundation’s scores for Democrats vs Republicans.
Note that the best Democrat spending score is close to the average Republican spending score while the worst Republican spending score is lower than the worst Democrat score.
Back to the republican platform. Several Republican legislators refuse to sign the Republican Party’s platform endorsement form, and some have specific exceptions to what they support. This is an excellent way to spot RINOs independent of their voting record. Unfortunately, this information is not available via the Republican Party Website. Now, why would the Republican Party not make this known to the public?
Hmmm. Could RINOs now have sufficient control of the party to prevent this information from coming out?
