Idaho Citizens for

Good Government

Another "Letter to the Editor" you never got to see

Jay Maxner wrote a letter to The Lewiston Tribune that they didn’t publish so we are puting it up here.

Why do you think they wouldn’t publish this factual and easilly verified short letter?

Lori McCann says she is a Republican, but she votes no differently than a liberal Democrat.

As an example, in 2023, McCann voted against House Bill 265, witch had the stated purpose of

“creating a duty of care for promoters, organizers, and performers of sexual exhibitions to take reasonable steps to restrict the access of minors”

and to

“prohibit the use of public facilities and public assets for live performances containing sexual conduct”

in an effort to protect children in Idaho from sexually explicit drag shows.

She then voted against House Bill 314 known as

“The Children’s School and Library Protection Act”

which would require public schools and community libraries to take reasonable steps in restricting children’s access to obscene or harmful material.

After these votes, the Nez Perce County Republican Central Committee gave her a vote of no confidence.

Even so, she recently voted against HB 710, a watered down version of last year’s HB 314, that would require schools and public libraries to take small steps to restrict children’s access to some obscene materials.

The Idaho Republican Party is guided by a specific Platform. McCann answered “YES” to the Idaho Republican Party Questionnaire:

“I support the Idaho Republican Platform and accept it as the standard by which my performance as a candidate and as an officeholder should be evaluated…”

McCann’s voting violates her pledge, the Platform, and the wishes of the vast majority of McCann’s constituents, and promotes the exploitation and abuse of Idaho’s families and their children.
