Cindy Carlson is an Idaho State Senator from District 7 and someone we consider to be a true stateswoman in office.<\/p>

Her efforts to shrink government and costs have been herculean and we hope you will thank her and others that have helped to let them know we are watching them and that we appreciate all they do to represent us.<\/p>

Be aware that there are powerful forces at work with big $ influencing our governments to grow and grow and grow.\u00a0 That is because government force is a powerful ally to those that would monopolize and control us for their own ends.\u00a0 Once government gets outside its proper constitutional boundaries it becomes increasingly difficult to get it back into that box.\u00a0<\/p>

THE GOOD<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Huge efforts were made on behalf of the true conservative \u201ccommon sense\u201d legislation.\u00a0 There are too many too list.\u00a0 I have identified some below:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

  1. SB1081 \u2013\u00a0 This bill would have allowed illegal immigrants to obtain an Idaho Driver\u2019s License.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1081<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  2. HB124 Election Integrity \u2013 Now students\u00a0cannot use their student ID\u2019s to register to vote in Idaho\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0124<\/a>\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  3. HB 292 Property Tax Relief –\u00a0Governor\u2019s Veto overridden by the Legislature<\/strong>\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0292<\/a>\u00a0 This legislation gives property owners tax relief through a sales tax credit and tax relief from school facilities bonds and levies through a sales tax credit provided to schools.\u00a0 It also increases the Circuit Breaker relief for low income households.\u00a0 This is complicated legislation but if you read it carefully it does make sense.\u00a0 Property tax is not being shifted to businesses.\u00a0 Taxpayers are receiving credits (4.5 %) from total State sales tax revenue.\u00a0 No, sales tax is not going up. A percent (4.5% total) of sales tax revenue is being allocated to property tax relief. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  4. HB71 \u2013 Gender Dysphoria – Stops genital surgeries and puberty blockers for children. This bill\u00a0on the governor\u2019s desk.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0071<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  5. HB314 \u2013 Removes minor\u2019s access to harmful materials in schools and libraries. This bill is\u00a0on the governor\u2019s desk.\u00a0<\/strong>https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0314<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  6. SB1100 \u2013 Public school bathrooms and facilities will be used by each student\u2019s biological gender.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1100<\/a>\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  7. HB228 This bill Defined \u201cAbstinence\u201d.\u00a0 Reducing the Risk Sex Ed Curriculum has been using a non-traditional definition confusing parents as to what their children were learning.\u00a0 Reducing the Risk Curriculum was also removed from the appropriation for the Health & Welfare budget. YEAH!\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0228<\/a>\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  8. HB202 Display the words \u201cIn God We Trust\u201d in schools.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0202<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  9. HB242 Trafficking of Minors for Abortions. Bill is\u00a0on governor\u2019s desk.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0242<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  10. SB 1029 – Prohibits investigations and court orders terminating a parent’s relationship with their child based on the child’s immunization status.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1029<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  11. HB267 Expands the capacity of career technical education (CTE) in Idaho middle and high schools (grades 7-12), particularly in rural and remote communities.\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0267<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    THE BAD\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

    Things we could not accomplish or stop:<\/p>

    1. HB24\u00a0 – The governor\u2019s Idaho Launch bill giving high school graduates $8,500 per student for higher ed or workforce training.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0024<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/li>
    2. HB133 \u2013 Parents being allowed to teach their kids Driver\u2019s Ed \u2013\u00a0Veto\u2019d by the governor.<\/strong>\u00a0Why?<\/li>
    3. HB205 – Absentee Voting cleanup was attempted.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0205<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li>
    4. S1038 Educational Savings Accounts and S1161 Empowering Parents Revamp.\u00a0 A large portion of constituents want these programs but the educational lobby groups and a strange number of\u00a0 legislators want to provide college scholarships of $8500 for each high school student instead.\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1038<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0FAILED\u00a0<\/strong>https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1161<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li>
    5. SB1099 – This bill would have protected students and families from intrusion into personal and private matters by the government and transparency to parents regarding activities within schools\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1099<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li>
    6. S1018 Prohibit certain conduct regarding food that contains a vaccine or vaccine material without notification of the presence of the vaccine or vaccine material.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1018<\/a>\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li>
    7. S1093 Labeling of food prohibit certain conduct regarding food that contains a vaccine and to provide labeling in certain instances.\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1093<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      1. HB138 removed the Presidential Primary in March and May (accidentally)\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0138<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/li>
      2. S1186 Trailer bill to add the Presidential Primary back into May but it failed in State of Affairs Committee.\u00a0 So, at the moment there is no Presidential Primary?\u00a0What the heck?https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1186<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FAILED<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

        THE INTERESTING<\/strong><\/p>

        1. S1127 \u2013 Designation of the State Dinosaur\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1127<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/li>
        2. S1143 Authorizes the IF&G to create a season for collecting horn sheds\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/S1143<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/li>
        3. HB186 Firing Squad added as a form of Capital Punishment due to lack of lethal medication being available\u00a0https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2023\/legislation\/H0186<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0PASSED<\/strong><\/li>
        4.
