What IS Law?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t

The word “law” comes from old Norse and means “something that is well established”.<\/p>

The “Common Law” is law basically derived from the biblical idea of law, that being, the Ten Commandments.<\/p>

When was the last time God amended His law?<\/p>

It has never changed.<\/p>

When was the last time your city council, or county, or state, or national government changed the law?<\/p>

Probably just about every chance they get – especially at the state and federal levels.<\/p>

How can a law be an “established thing” if it is changed all the time?<\/p>

Several years ago, a book was published called “3 Felonies a day” which purported that, on average, an American is guilty of violating a felony law about three times a day.<\/p>

Ever heard the term “Indict a ham sandwich”?\u00a0 It means you can drag just about anyone into court and sue them or accuse them of a crime regardless of who they are.<\/p>

The fact is, by the very definition of the word, our country is not under “the rule of law” but under the “whims of men”.<\/p>

Our state and federal legislatures have become a race to “get things done”.\u00a0 A new representative arrives with a gamut of rules, committees, existing laws, and massive bureaucracy that forces them quickly into playing the “fix it” game of law.<\/p>

It doesn’t seem to matter whether or not they know the constitution, much less the existing laws on the books.<\/p>

They are immediately inundated with lobbyists and proposed legislation to review and decide on with very little time to truly evaluate what they must soon vote on.<\/p>

Does this not strike you as a very poor way to treat “an established thing”?<\/p>

The consequences of massively changing and complex law are significant.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Poorly thought out law<\/li>
  • Self contradictory law<\/li>
  • Unconstitutional law<\/li>
  • Pork law<\/li>
  • Pre-crime law<\/li>
  • Bad law in general<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    When the law gets this bad, what does this do to your judical system of law?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    • Complicates decisions<\/li>
    • Requires law degrees to practice law<\/li>
    • Allows the judiciary to effectively create law by precedence<\/li>
    • Makes using the justice system expensive<\/li>
    • Makes justice take a long time<\/li>
    • Delays the punishment of crime<\/li>
    • Prolongs the stress of processing a prosecution<\/li>
    • Requires ever-changing and multiple law dictionaries<\/li>
    • Creates leagelese that is hard or impossible for the lay person to understand<\/li>
    • Empowers lawyers with a monopoly on justice<\/li>
    • Limits and Destroys Justice<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Our country, indeed our world, doesn\u2019t need more law, it needs simpler and more established laws that everyone can understand and apply.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
