The word \u201cRepublic\u201d comes from the Latin words \u201cres\u201d and \u201cpublicus\u201d which literally mean \u201cThe People\u2019s (Publicus) Thing (Res)\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Law is the people\u2019s thing.  The common law is the kind of law, based on biblical principles, that the majority of the people understood to be legitimate back when this country was conceived.  It had at its core the idea that liberty was the ability to freely do things that do not harm others.<\/p>\n

There is an ancient maxim of law that dates back to Greek times that states simply that if there is \u201cno harm\u201d there is \u201cno crime\u201d.<\/p>\n

This maxim has been broken grossly by our current justice system and legislatures.  We now pass \u201cbehavioral modification\u201d laws that impose fines or imprisonment for acts that harm no one but violate the letter of the \u201claw\u201d.  This is no longer related to the common law but is what is known as \u201ccolor of law\u201d \u2013 it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but it ain\u2019t a duck and it doesn\u2019t allow for liberty.<\/p>\n

Because our educational system does not teach these simple and basic principles we have lost the
\u201cRule of Law\u201d in this country and thus our liberty.<\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

Something that proves we no longer live in a \u201crepublic\u201d is the fact that we don\u2019t follow even the most basic and clear mandates found in our constitution.  A glaring example that comes to mind is the constitutional requirement that \u201cmoney\u201d is defined as Gold and Silver and no other kind of money is allowed.  Yet the federal and every single state government in this country use a fiat currency that is controlled by a private corporation known as the \u201cFederal Reserve\u201d which is neither federal nor a reserve.<\/p>
