ICGG Canvases Idaho County<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In mid October, an ICGG contingent of young americans volunteered to canvas much of Idaho County warning voters of the dangers of Proposition 1.<\/p>

For 2 days some 20-30 volunteers canvased republican voters in places like Grangeville, Cottonwood, Riggins, Mt. Idaho, Orofino, Kooskia, and Kamiah.<\/p>

Special thanks for Janessa Pogue for her leadership and organizational skills and for ICGG members and the Idaho County Republican Central Committee<\/a>\u00a0 that put up the money to provide food and water and brochures for the event.<\/p>

What’s wrong with Proposition 1?<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Prop 1 first of all contains two separate issues, somethjing that is unconstitutional for an initiative.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Part 1 is an “Open Primary<\/strong>” which is technically and legally called a “Jungle Primary”.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In a Jungle Primary, there is just one primary for all parties and all voters can vote for the top 4 candidates to be placed onto the ballot.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

What this results in are many candidates from all points of view.  Voters need to do their homework to decide who to vote for because there is no party branding or vetting to help them.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Part 2 is Ranked Choice Voting<\/strong> which is a scheme, (endorsed by the communist party since 1900<\/a>,) which tends to favor middle-of-the-road candidates. <\/p>\n

It is quite possible that despite the complex way of counting votes under this system, the results can still result in the winner not recieving a majority of votes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
